Book review: Sky Runner by Emelie Forsberg
This month, we would like to share with you an inspiring book we enjoyed reading. This book is Sky Runner: finding strength, happiness and balance in your running, written by Emelie Forsberg.
Emelie Forsberg is a Swedish athlete, one of the most successful trail-runners in the world. She is well-known for her exceptional physical skills as well as her infectious smile.
In this book, she shares her personal experience as a competing trail-runner, her running and strength training program, and tips for a healthy lifestyle, including yoga and yummy recipes.
Emelie was not destined to become a professional athlete, she never trained for it, she explains that her motivation comes from the enjoyment she gets out of moving in the nature and exploring new areas. This attitude towards running, simple and organic, makes exercise accessible to everyone as long as it brings pleasure and fun. Her inspiring stories will help you find your motivation to start exercising or to set up new goals. If you would like to know more about exercise and its benefits on health, follow the link below.
Emelie talks about a challenging time of her life, when she suffered a knee injury (ACL tear) and had to go through the hardship of getting back to her highest level. She opens up on the obstacles she faced and how she overcame them physically and emotionally.
Based on this difficult experience, Emelie developed a stronger connection with her body, focusing on listening to it in order to build both mental and physical strength sustainably. Regardless of whether you're running three kilometres or 50 kilometres, this book will help improve your attitude to running and give it deeper meaning, while motivating you to be your best self.
