Newsletter May 2020 - What's new in the clinic?

We are BACK! With the COVID-19 curve flattening and fewer cases of community transmission, the clinic has been successfully able to reintroduce face to face appointments the last few weeks. To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we have implemented a few changes at the clinic. For patients that prefer to have an online appointment as well to to reach patients further afield, digital physio appointments will continue to be offered by all physios.

What we are doing to minimise risk of COVID-19 in the clinic:

  • Screening patients prior to face to face appointments in accordance with Government guidelines

  • Staggering appointment times to minimise crossover of patients

  • Reduced the number of physios in the clinic at any one time

  • Using hospital grade disinfectant to clean treatment rooms and communal areas

  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) if indicated

  • Offering digital physio appointments for patients who are unable to or choose not to attend the clinic

Why digital physiotherapy appointments in your own home work:

  • Time efficient and ease of access - no travel time, no parking and no waiting in the clinic

  • Comfortable and relaxed surroundings - a familiar environment helps you focus on the information provided by your physio

  • Personalised and specific advice – how, where and what household items you can use when doing your exercises at home

  • Confidence in your home exercise plan – a sense of being able to manage your condition knowing the exercises are being done properly in between physio appointments

  • Time for listening – no hands on means more time to listen to you, any concerns you have and together we can work out how we can get you to where you want to be
